Job carreer are two terms that are closely interwoven and often confused. A job is defined as an activity or task that a person does for the sake of earning money whereas a career is the chase for a life time ambition and making progressive steps towards life's goals. It can thus be implied that while job is a short term activity, career is long term. When we speak about the term job carreer, it refers to a safe task as the work is routine and stable and also income is regular. Also, a job does not take education or any other special training much into consideration as they are often not required. Contrasting to this, career often demands for a special training.

Acquiring a job carreer does not require any formal planning or preparations. Although a job assures of stability, security and income, it cannot be assured that one can stay content with his job over time especially if his skills and abilities are not recognized and utilized. And it has become common amongst most people to opt for jobs based on the work environment of the job so that the environment fits to their life styles.   

A career, on the other hand, requires a very careful and formal planning unlike job. Career can also be called as an art in which a person's abilities, talents and skills can always be expressed. A career motivates talents in a way that line it up with one's personal desires. A person opts for a career in order to influence his knowledge, education and experience for the sake of growth and prospects. A career also lets a person to cultivate interests and concentrate on their passions.

Many people believe that job carreer are one and the same. But then, they both are different. A job is characterized by regularity, low risk and stability while a career is characterized by risk, elasticity and opportunity312. A job is often regarded as the contract between the employer and the employee and its intention is to enable the employee to contribute towards profits for the employee at an agreed price. A career represents a person's occupation that brings progress to him through a general course of action in his undertakings.   

A Job carreer could comprise of several jobs in a consistent progression. While a job means survival, a career could mean choice. In short, it can be concluded that, with a job, one works to live and with a career one lives to work.
